Title: Count The Fish
wayne r - April 13, 2008 12:30 AM (GMT)
I was trying to figure out how many fish I have so I took this pic out the window.
Can someone tell me without going cross eyed. I get a different count every time.
I think I am over stocked.
(excuse the reflection)

I come up with 62.
How big is your pond and how big are the fish? It looks sizable.

The upper pond is 4500 Canadian gal and it flows into a 500 gal lower pond.
The water flows thur two 55 gal. bio filters and one 15 gal filter.
The fish in the pic are in 4 ft. of water.
The largest orfes are 12 inches and the smallest are 4 inch. Average length about 7 inches.
Did you guys know that our gallon is bigger then yours?

Hi Wayne I was going to ask about your filtration. What kind of filter the 15 gallon that is?

I get 62. I have about 30 in a 600 gal. ..think I'm overstocked. lol But I can't bring myself to give away or cull anybody so I'm leaving them on their own. I figure even if there is a major amount of spawning...there's more mouths to eat the fry. I'll just make sure I keep the water clean. Male frog froze to death in my skippy filter--haven't seen the female frog. :(

It would also be considered a bio filter. Its a pressure unit with bio balls plus 4 foam pads. It feeds a small waterfall.

I tried counting them three times, but I kept losing my place.
I would need to use a marker pen on my monitor to get it right.
62 sounds good.
