Description: Any suggestions?

With the huge amount of online sites to shop from are there any in particular that you would reccomend? I would like a reliable source for what we are looking for.

Anything and everything. We're starting a brand new pond from scratch and our existing one only has a pump, our homemade filter system and fish. I would like to get plants for sure for our existing pond and then lotsa ideas of fun stuff for our larger pond.

frogman3 - April 22, 2008 07:59 PM (GMT)
Aquatic plants: bonniesplants.com

lots of pond stuff, good prices, sometimes free shipping check out the following:

Webbs water gardens, AZ ponds, Best Nest, Drs. foster & smith

Hard to find pond thingies  Aquatic Eco-Systems

I would always buy on line plants from a licensed supplier since you don't get anything unwanted with your plants. I have ordered from all the above and would recommend any of them.

Hope that helps FM3

I get almost all my pond stuff from three places:
http://www.thatpetplace.com (good prices, lots of choices)
http://www.drsfostersmith.com (largest selection)
http://www.aqua-mart.com (good service, better for pond plants; you can ask for Jeff and say Robyn sent you)

Once a year or so, I will use another place for pond plants like http://www.tricker.com
This year, I ordered pond plants from Aqua-Mart (great service, low prices) and a lotus from Tricker (not here yet for some reason).

I've used all three that Robyn mentioned and had good service from them all. I don't mind paying a little more if I get good service. Just placed an order today with F&S.
I have ordered plants from eBay but I try to avoid them for personal reasons.
Don't forget about local farm stores and feed stores. Lots of them have pond stuff nowadays. Plus you get to go see the new duckies and chicks! Life just doesn't get much better than that! :)

You are in the U.S., so why not try some plant exchange? Most ponders at some point run out of room and start throwing stuff away, and a lot will either sell it extremely cheap, or send it just for the price of postage.

If you are after a specific thing, actual nurseries are the way to go, but if you are like me and just want "some stuff", exchanges are great. Try American Ponder, they even have a Canadian section for us poor souls, and there always seems to be a lot of people willing to share.

Did ebay for plants last year....don't think I would again.

Unfortunately for me being so remotely located, I get everything from either a Canadian supplier, or Ebay, but I get about 95% of my stuff off of Ebay.

I have bought plants and Trapdoor Snails from Lilypons Water Garden and have not had any problems.

WoW! I placed an order online with F&S this morning at 9:40 am and it shipped out this afternoon at 2:53 pm. That is quick!
I ordered more fish meds so I am in a hurry to get it but didn't expect it to ship until tomorrow. That made my day :)

My main sites are Bestnest, Drsfostersmith, petedge. In my area one water lettuce (baby) costs around 3.99 so anywhere is better than here. I just won some on ebay..what I don't use I'll be giving to another 'new' ponder in the area.

I found that most of my orders have been through AZ Ponds.
Decent prices, plus shipping is free for orders over $100.00.
They seem to have just about everything I need.

Sounds like I might have to give Drs. Foster & Smith a try. I like fast shipping. :)

The fastest shipping I've got paying "regular shipping" was next day! When I order from That Pet Place, which is only about 100 miles away, it usually takes about 3 days but, a few times, I got the stuff the next day.
