when ever I get a new fish there is always a couple that seem to chase some around in my case they always seem to stop after a while AKA pecking order established usally it is my guromi. (usally not for more than a day or so but nothing hard core)

how long have you had this fish? Size of tank? other fish?

If it seems to be nipping and pulling fins you may need to seperate due to the fact that it will stress the other into illness or injury.

Christina is right. There really isn't much you can do except to separate them. I would just watch and wait for a bit and see how serious it is. It may slow down. What type of fish and size of tank will also play a role. If it looks like it is constant harassment or real damage is being done, seperate them as soon as possible.

Keep us posted!

How big is your tank? What are the sizes and species of fish in your tank? Are they all goldfish or other fish too? Goldfish like to chase each other. They can pester each other (especially mature males going after females but really any age and sex). Goldfish may kill smaller species of fish. Assuming that you have a large enough tank with just a few goldfish of similar size that are not sexually mature, I would say you have to either let them duke it out (and hopefully eventually stop fighting but risk damage) or separate them.
