Description: replacing bulbs

I can't figure out how to remove the bulb from my pondlife turbo twist 6x 18 watt uv pond clarifier. Has anyone done this?

I've never had a UV sterilizer but hope someone has who can help you. Since there are differences between makes and models, if I had experience with other kinds, it might not help you. Have you tried calling the manufacturer?

Hi light! Welcome to the forum!
SadieMay uses a UV maybe she will have an idea as to what you can do.
Good luck ! :)

I don't have a PondLife brand, but most of these inline uv sterilizers work the same way. The bulb has a four-pin plug on one end. Most of the bodies simply unscrew and have an O-ring to seal the connection. The bulb itself is usually surrounded by a quartz sheath that allows the uv light to get to the water passing through (uv does not pass through regular glass very well). To release the bulb, just gently pull it out of the socket. You may have to wiggle it a bit. I also either wear gloves or use a towel to hold the bulb in case it breaks.

I don't have it immediately near me, but Don's description sounds right. I think (hope ) it's in the basement so I'll take a look.
