Title: Need To Vent!
Description: Pond is muddy

I just need to take a couple seconds and vent about my muddy clay pond! Just when things were so nice and the water was crystal clear, we got a massive rain storm and of course my creek turned to mud and that turned my whole pond to poo brown. To make matters worse, I spent the last couple days building up my dam so the pond would hold an extra foot of water. I didn't realize with the rain that the creek was flowing in faster than my dam was letting water out and I had an overflow! To make matters EVEN WORSE. I got my CT scan results back yesterday and I need back surgery (sure glad I built the dam and packed all those rocks last week) So anyways I went running out there in the pouring rain and freezing temp in my running shoes and jeans and straight into the pond and started rooting up the dam to let the water out faster. The whole time looking for fish! I hope none got out and they have the sense to stay in the depths and not get near that dam. I did put up some mesh so they can't get out but they could get sucked onto that mesh pretty easily. Hopefully it stops raining soon. We only get rain a few times a year. No I am not joking!

See what happens when you say you miss the rain. :o   :)
Rain can be good and bad, it just depends on what Mother Natures feels like at the time. ;)
I bet the beavers feel the same way when they build a dam and we tear it down.
I hope none of your fish went sailing down the river! :o

OK If there was any doubt before.... you have blown that away you are krazy. ;) Moving rocks when you need back surgery? Bad girl.....Did you make it wider so you can have the same depth?

LOL, I didn't find out I needed surgery until yesterday! I won't do anything stupid like moving anything anymore ;) I left the dam the same width, I just dug the exit hole deeper. I was just out there to check again and I think I have it adjusted perfect now. It's not overflowing anymore at least.

Poor KK, you have one crisis after another. But, you always seem to weather them. I'm sure you'll get through! They say that adding clay to a pond helps to clear it (although muddy at first) so the pond may settle a few days after it rains and be even more clear. We can hope!
