I had 2 calpump torpedo pumps. This is the second time I'm returning a pump for the same problem.Called customer service they said 2 to 3 week turn around. Don't recommend these pumps to anybody.
So I guess what I'm asking for is opinions on what pump to buy. I prefer a pump with a inlet and an outlet because I'm running a Oase Surface Skimmer to a bio filter.
Any suggestions to fit my setup?
Most pumps can be adjusted to allow for an inlet once you take the intake screen off. I can only comment on the pumps I've had - OASE Nautilus 60 (still going strong after 11 years this month) and PondMaster Mag-Drive pumps (no problems with those either). I had I think a Little Giant when I first started; it didn't survive one summer.
I have had excellent results with Beckett pumps. Here is an ebay link to the one I like the best. . This one comes in sizes from 1800gal to 8000gal. I have two of them and they are really good! I really don't have any complaints with them at all and they push the solids good too.

The new magnetic drive or hybrid pumps by Easy pro and pond master have a very good reputation and are easy on the electric bill. Cost to run these pumps are about half, good warentee and long lasting.
