Title: My Ponds
Description: My 2G Wildlife pond and my 57G main pond

kENNY - May 7, 2008 03:00 AM (GMT)
So I just setup a new pond yesterday 5\05\08 and buried it...It's not much...2G's but its a wildlife pond....It's meant for snakes, plants, frogs, racoons, stray cats,etc....to drink and have a place to call their own....Then there is my 57G main pond that is home to:1 Koi, 8 goldies(as far as I can tell), algea, plants, etc. The wildlife pond is buried by the house in my other garden and has pea gravel around it and has little stones to edge it...Its got some plants but want some more(Mainly arachnis). Ther specs of both are:
2G Wildlife pond:
--Home to animals\anphibians\insects passing though
--Plants:
-Bloody dock
-Bacopa
-Parrots Feather
-arachnis(Soon)
-Hornwort
-Floating fern
-A peice of terrestial mint
--Buried by my window in my other graden that actually has shade

57G Pond
[Pond holds 50G while the WaterFall holds 7G]
--1 Koi, 8 goldies
--To many plants to list
--Becoming buried later

(My mom is going to buy a bigger pond for my goldies and maybe a few more koi to keep sauron company...if the pond is big enough...the 50G will then hold a lotus and some rosey red minnows)

Make sure you plan out a good sitting area for her to enjoy the pond and yard...and the pond will become bigger. :D

Yes that is a good idea SadieMay! The more people you can get really interested in the pond, the more financial backing you get ;)

Your new pond for koi should be at least 1000 gallons if possible but it sounds like you want something smaller. So, I don't suggest getting more koi unless the pond is over 1000 gallons.

Good luck with your ponds!
