Please can someone advise me, my turtle has got what feels like limescale on her shell, shes had it for a good 8 months. it wont brush or wipe off. shes still eating, and nothings changed in the tank. ive been told that it could be sunburn, i have one repti glo 5.0 light and a sun glo light in a 3ft tank, i do have another turtle ive brought him a few months ago and hes fine, they both get on fine. ive tried using tamodine solution on her shell but that never worked either. ive also been told that it could be shell pigmentation but i cant find any information about it. theres some pictures below so u can have a look at her.

It does kind of look like she's bleached out. How many inches are between the basking area and the heat lamp? There should be at least 6 inches plus the height of the turtle. I don't think the color change is normal but it may not be immediately dangerous. I suggest consulting a vet to see what he/she thinks. Be sure the turtle has enough calcium and other things in her diet. This question is really beyond my knowledge. Good luck!

Oh nothing wrong with the turtle at all, its your water

Your turtle has Mineral Deposit Buildup

This is caused from having water that is heavy with minerals. A key feature to mineral deposits is that the scutes will be clear underneath, and this will be evident once the turtle sheds. There will be a white-to-off-white coating or glazing over the scutes.

Once it sheds again it will come off, my turtle got like this before. Thats when she was ready to nest i put cuddlebone in for her to get calcium, but it was so much calcium in the tank shell got exactly like your pics
