I put a common pleco from my 29G into my big pond...I live in florida and was wondering...can he live outside during the winter? It CAN get to freezing but thats the lowest and it doesnt stay there for very long (A night!?). thanks for the answers.

In parts of Florida, plecos can live outside year round. In fact, they are considered an invasive species there. In the colder parts of Florida, sometimes they may not make it. They will survive down to 50 degrees F. Below that, it's a good luck, bad luck situation if the pleco survives.

ken they will get huge in your pond I put one in mine during the summer (live in Ohio) so i had to get him out THAT WAS A CHORE. he he was huge. I would love for him to stay there all year round but black on black trying to get him out I found him by accident I think it was cold enough he had slowed WAYYYY down I was just drudging the pond bottom and happened to net him scared the crap out of me so of course I dropped him back in becouse I didnt know what it was but caught him thank god. Then I was running around my yard with a pleco in my hand and had no clue what to do with him in my work suit, like an idiot LOl it was kinda funny
