We have a natural spring fed pond in Ontario Canada (about the size of a small swimming pool). This is the first year we've noticed a strange 'tube' of eggs under our bridge. It looked like wet toilet paper (white and sheer) but when investigated it turned out to be eggs of some sort. About 3 ft long and 2-3 inches around. We have several variety of frogs (natural) and hundreds of Rosie Red goldfish (store bought for mosquito control) but never have seen this type of egg case.
Two years ago our nieces brought a few lake fish (sunfish type) and released them into the pond. We see them swimming and wondered if it could be their eggs. I only ask because I don't want snails or anything harmful to my vegy garden (nearby) or worse yet the pond. Any ideas? Thanks
Sunfish, you would know, the male builds a circle in the gravel and protects the eggs until they hatch and get a little bigger, there eggs are small round and yellow

Hum, I'm not sure. They're in the water? Three feet long sounds awfully big. I don't think it's the sunfish, rosy reds, or amphibian eggs either. Can you post a photo?
