Title: Aquarium Renovations
Description: My big tank redo
kENNY - May 13, 2008 02:10 AM (GMT)
Hello...again! I have a few aquariums and am thinking about what I need to do wtih them and have decided...I need to treat myself to some new fish...Yep! it's that time.....SO heres what Im planning on doing....Taking a 3 G bucket and filling it up about halfway with the aquariums water then putting the fish and my bubblestone in it. The plants go into another bucket...then the tanks get gelaened up...ornaments dried up...maybe bleach soaked then put back together...here are the tanks Im redoing:
--My 10G mini-Community
--My 2.5G minibow
--My 2.5G AGA tank
--Maybe my 5 G
So here are the current fish:
--10G:
--1 platy
--2 female bettas
--3 upside down cats
--3 kuhlie loaches
(So many possibilities....not exactly sure yet...Know its going to be over stocked though)
--2.5G #1: AGA:
--1 Male CT betta
--1 FM unknown shrimp
(adding 2 ghost shrimp and 2 cherry shrimp)
--2.5G #2
--1 Male CT betta
(Adding: 2 ADF's)
--5G Hex:
--1 Male Albino ACF
(May add a pigmented Girl ACF)
My 29G:
Im just going to do a routine cleaning and buy more fish, new plants, etc.

It sounds like a lot of work! I've never had upside down catfish but have heard they are pretty sensitive so be careful redoing their tank. Be sure to soak anything you soaked in dilute bleach with fresh water in dechlorinator and then rinsing again. If any bleach remains, it will not be good. I don't know if a 5 gallon is large enough for two African clawed frogs as they can get pretty big.

Actually (From my experience) the upside downs are pretty hardy[I do keep them in pretty good conditions though!]...they dont like bunches of cories though...I think the 3 new ones will be fine though. I will be carefull with everybody...My mom and me have decided Im going to lose some of my fish witch Im going to be SO upset about but Im going to be very carefull[Im halfway tempted to put my shrimp outside...He ate my black, teal and red betta's fins!].I have a lot of projects now:
-Tearing down my fry tank after a while
-The big aquarium redo
-Cleaning\redoing my 2 gardens
-The new wildlife pond
-Since Im going for another nonfish pet...Im hoping to get a calico guinea pig...They are so cute!
-Im having to battle a flea infestation in my new 5 kittens (Not keeping ALL of them..just a few!)
-Buring\redoing my 57G pond (Just got the clay soil out of the bottom....[It's the weirdest feeling being "Tasted" by my goldfish and koi...Some of the goldies are about 2in's now..they are growing fats!])
-My new big pond
-Finishing up my online LMS class and completeing my other classes slowly but surely.
-Fixing my dumb, stupid Peice Of Crap computer....which is my access to my classes![This computer was REALLY good before I needed it and stupid brother started being linked to my network![YouTube transmitted a crappy virus and it remain only on MY computer!) Hope to get a laptop soon w\ wireless internet!
Also if I get another ACF I am going to give them a new 10G kit! (I am expensive!) The hex is annoying me so I might do it irregardlous!

Wow, you're busier than me! I miss my guinea pigs. I had a calico male before. Did you take in a pregnant cat who had kittens? I have one kitten who was spayed this morning. Five kittens must be a handful but a joy.

Actualy it's our neighbors cat who brought the kittens to us....Good NEWS! The fleas are almost gone...and the 10G is done (Just need to start buying stuff), and my garden (#2) is weeded! I do love my kttens as they are always coming up to me BUT Im going to talk to our neighbors and ask them about spaying her (Telling them the benifits!), but some are staying with us, one might go with them and one might go to my friend.
