Title: Why Do The Pics Run Out Of The Frame
Description: Can't see the whole picture
ColdGold - May 14, 2008 01:09 AM (GMT)
When ever anyone posts a large pic on here they run out of the forum frame and so does the text in that post.
There is no bottom scroll bar and no matter what i do i can't make the forum window any bigger so i can see the whole photo and read the whole post.
Anyone got a solution? I'm using Firefox on XP

I use Firefox too and have the same issue. I'm not sure if it is the browser or the Invision site that is doing it. I know it didn't used to be this way. Bit of a pain, but oh well... :D

Thank you :) at least it isn't something just with my computer settings then.

I use Internet Explorer on Vista .... haven't seen that problem. There's always a bottom scroll bar that appears when oversized pictures are posted.
What you describe does sound frustrating. I hope somebody here has a work-around for you.

Yeah, I use Internet Explorer. When the photo is too big, there is a bottom left to right scroll bar. I would be mad too if there wasn't! People can avoid that happening by either posting smaller photos or providing links to them instead of actually having them appear on the page. A few people have posted photos that were way too big. If you can't see the entire photo on the computer screen, it's too big! I like to see the whole picture at the same time. For detail of certain things, you can crop and resize a part of a photo to make a zoomed in version of a certain spot.

 that is why I have resized the few I have posted - because I can't see part of a lot of the pics posted. 600 to 650 px wide is usually ample.
The thing is if the picture goes off the screen and there is no scroll bar you can't read all the text in that post either - now THAT I do find very frustrating.

CG have you tried to reduce the size of your screen on your monitor settings? Sounds like the screen size is too big and moving the scroll bar over so you can't see it. Try the plus and minus for the monitor itself to see if that works.

Are you back from vacation?

No PG. We had internet and I couldn't stay away! It's been a long time since I've had my forum "fix". ;) We are in Reno for a couple of days. We are going to ride around to some of the old towns around here then head for home on Saturday.
I did manage to get a pic of some waterfalls while I was out chasing around the countryside. I'll post a couple when I get back!

Hey Tia, you'll have to con your Hubby into taking you on a pond tour for one of your holidays :P

yep!
Second thing I tried was changing the resolution so everything on the screen was smaller so I could try to drag the window out bigger - can't be made any bigger and there is still no bottom scroll bar.
fisrt thing was just to drag the window across the screen so it was running off the screen on the left and tried to resize the window. Cant' be done.

I did figure out how I can read the text that runs off the screen with the pic though and how to see the whole pic if I REALLY want to -
Just copied and pasted into a notebook file for the text and use "save image as" for the pics - then just delete them when I have seen the pic and read the text. (I wantd to know what the king fisher took from KK so I had to work out something ;) )
