Title: Epdm Vs. Btl Liners

DH and I are looking into EPDM vs BTL liners and am wondering if anyone else out there has any experience with the BTL and also what about going with a tan BTL liner instead of black.

Seeing as though we are in Nevada and our official color is dirt i'm thinking the tan would blend in more and our pond will be approx 32 inches above ground with tan landscape block as walls.

My DH is an engineer so he's taking this whole pond bulding process above and beyond anything you could possibly imagine.

Tks,
Christina

I've never gotten a butyl liner. They are more expensive but are supposed to last longer. The 45 mil EPDM is good enough for most of us. I've not seen tan butyl liners. In general, black works best and looks the most natural. No matter what color you pick, you'll soon have dirt and algae growing on it anyway.

Hi Christina, I was going to go with the Tan liner but decided to invest a few pennies more per sq ft for the heaver PPL-36 which is black. I liked the idea of tan though since the area that is not underwater but sometimes still visible no matter how hard you try to hide it should look more natural. I can't wait to start on my larger pond and will be using the BTL product in June this year. When are you planning to build yours?
