:( I am very concerned about some information I found on your website.
I assume that there are a large number of children that visit your website to educate themselves on how to properly care for their hamster.

The particular information Im referring to is how many hamsters you suggest that people have. >which is more than one in a cage.

Hamsters are solitary animals and are very territorial and dominant. Housing two adults in the same cage is very dangerous. They are guarenteed to fight which is what the very loud sqeeks that you refer to were. In your instance you were very obviously very ucky that they did not kill eachother as that is the normal circumstance.
normally hamsters will continue to fight until one is dead. Even if you are a lucky case where your hamsters occasionally fight, they fight very violently and can cause alot of harm to the other hamster. This is NOT the sort of environment you want your pet to be living in.

There is an exception to that rule which is dwarf hamsters. Dwarf hamsters love company and are very sociable with others of their species. HOWEVER if you intend on keeping two of them you must purchase them together as one that is used to being alone can become very territorial as the larger breeds are.
This holds true as well if one of your dwarf hamsters passes away, introducing another one into the cage can be quite difficult, they are best to be left alone by themselves.

I completely understand that you are not a professional and post information to assist others, however please do more research before posting information that you may be unsure about.
Think of how your mis information could affect a child that just purchased two hamsters... could be very tramatic to them watching them violently fight and perhaps die.

You also posted this in the main section, and I posted a reply there stating that I agree with what you said and thought that's what my site said. I will review it to clarify the information.
