Can an 8 in male Oranda have a few scales that look pooky out and not be sick? Our fish has this but has no signs of being ill in any way..I am getting crazy since the mate came down with Septicemia.. Yacky the other is now in a hospital tank and being treated..Doing well so far..

Are most of the scales up or just in one small spot? If most are up, it's probably dropsy. If it's just one spot, there could be a growth under there from something like fish tuberculosis, another sort of infection, physical damage, or even a tumor. Can you send a small photo of the fish?
