Title: Question :)
Description: My Zebra Danios and White Cloud...

LoveZanderEmily - March 18, 2005 02:50 AM (GMT)
Hello :) Thanks to Robyn for all the information about the Danios!!!

I've had a White Cloud all by himself in my little AquaBaby tank for 4 years now. Today, I bought 3 Zebra Danios (2 Albinos and 1 Zebra) for my 10 galon tank (they are the only ones in this tank right now). I wanted to know, would it be safe to add my White Cloud with the Danios even if my White Cloud has been alone in his little tank for 4 years... Do you think it would work? Or should I leave him in his tank? Will they eat each other?! :( Please respond :)

Marie

I think you put this question in the wrong section but I've actually raised baby zebra danios and white clouds in ponds in the summer. Anyway, in the past, I've kept those two species together, and they get along well. They won't bother each other really. The white clouds are much slower so the danios barely notice them. The danios may try to hog a lot of the food though. Both these species prefer to be in schools so if you could get a few more, they'd like that. There's always the risk of introducing diseases, parasites, etc. with new fish. Quarantining is a good idea if you can do that. If both your white cloud and danios are healthy, and the water in both "tanks" (I say that since the AquaBaby thing is hardly a tank) is similar, then it would be a very good idea to move the white cloud into the 10 gallon. While not a large tank, compared to the cube, it's a mansion! At 4-years-old, your white cloud is a mature fishy citizen. White clouds generally live only 3 up to 10 years if you're lucky.
