I work up this morning and notice a tiny little slug in my tank

Can some one please tell me why this is on my tank and how it got there

Also 1 of the tails to my fish is missing

There are no freshwater slugs. What does it look like? How big is it? It might be a leech or planaria. Neither will harm the fish.

it was a snail, it had a hard shell
