Today I went out to feed the fish and turtles and I looked down and saw a spider, not that I care too much for spiders (arachniphobe here), but no big deal, until i took a closer look, and low and behold... the new pond resident (using plants and bricks for web anchors) is Mrs Black Widow. I tried to catch her, but she ran away, I am gonna keep a look out, I'm usually not gung-ho on just killing things that arent bothering me, but there are too many kids around, so I wanted to catch it and get rid of it, or if I have to, dispose of it.

Are you sure it's a black widow? The females are small and black with a red hour glass on their back. My pond has various strange arachnids but no black widows. They tend to like dark, dry places.

yep its a black widow, I caught it this morning, I accidently killed it, but I got it in a jar right now.
