What to do with crayfish.....
I have 5 of these little guys and I have not seen them since I put them in a long tub of water with stones.....
They are hiding under some large rocks.......I had my goldfish in there while I cleaned the pond.....
One of them were carrying eggs, but when I lifted the rocks I saw no indication that eggs were there at all, and these little crayfish are kinda "buried" into the substrate..... I don't know what happened to the eggs one of them were carrying...
Should I go ahead and put them in the pond?....
Thx,

Crayfish naturally will hide under rocks and the substrate a lot of the time as you've found. The mother crayfish may have released her young. They may be around, and you just don't see them, or they may have been eaten. I've never had crayfish but you can put them into your pond keeping in mind that they may nip at a small fish now and then. Also, when you get in the pond, be careful not to step on them. I'm always worried about squishing the snails in my pond (and ghost shrimp I had for a few years).
You know what, Robyn?.... I had a dozen of ghost shrimp and I certainly didn't know what to do with them.... They were a gift to me and the poor things just died.... I didn't have them a week.... but stupid me put them in with the crabs...
:D Hahahaha probably did them in, huh?....

Yes, I can imagine crabs over maybe 1.5" would eat the ghost shrimp!
