Title: Snail Won't Stop Having Babies!
Description: Help me

I bought a trapdoor snail from the pet store about and month ago and so far is has had a total of 23 babies. I really don't know what to do about it. It's in a tank with 2 fish and it's really hard to pick all of the babies out of every nook and cranny. Will it ever stop having them?

You just have one? If so, they are sexual snails (males and females) which means that you have a female. Once she has given birth to all babies that were developing inside her and used up her storage of male sperm in her body in a few weeks, she will not be able to have more babies for now. If you want to make sure that her own male offspring don't grow large enough to breed with her, be sure to remove them before they are half an inch or so in size.

Yes I just have the one. I've been taking the babies out as soon as I find them. I was just wondering if she would ever stop! Thanks for answering!

Most snail killer additives are nasty and will kill or harm other animals (not plants so much though). I don't think Holly wanted to kill the snails.

If you (Guest) are seeing snail eggs but never notice any babies, the eggs or newborns may be getting eaten. What species of other animals are in the tank? Some fish eat snail eggs and/or babies. 20 degrees C isn't that warm. You might increase the temperature a few degrees to get more egg laying. Also, check the hardness of your water. If the water is soft, snails may not do as well.
