Good Afternoon

I bought two Apples snails last saturday (04 June 2005). One was moving about in the bag on the way home but the other one was just bobbin about. When i got home i place the two of them into the same tank (11 letres) The active one was fine but the other one never came out till sunday night. That was the last time a saw it move and its been sitting on its back all closed up since sunday night. Is my snail just playing dead?? Is there anyway of getting to chill out a bit and move around the tank?

Read this section on my site:
http://www.fishpondinfo.com/snail.htm#dead

Apple snails (and other species sometimes) will hole up in their shells if they are not comfortable (new home, water quality problems, someone picking on them, etc.). Aside from waiting and making sure the water quality, temperature, and other animals are to their liking, you just have to wait until they decide to come out. As long as the trap door is shut tight, the snail is alive. It opens up when they die. I hope your new guy decides to come out soon!

I hope so too!! They are really kool. I only have guppie and a catshark (or sharkcat) in the tank with them. I did have them in my other tank and my fighter attacked the big one but he seems fine. Well i'l just sit and wait. Thank for that.
