what Louisianna Irises would you recommend to grow in a bog bare-root/uncontained that they would not be as invasive as Yellowflag or atleast the least invasive varieties - i love them but i dont want them to choke up the garden pond area

Basically, any but the yellow flag iris are pretty slow growing. I've only had half a dozen varieties of water iris. The yellow flag grows like mad, the blue flag grows pretty well, and the others (which were some purple, a Colorific, and a few others that didn't survive) were relatively slow growing.

How about bad luck? They just died, most during growing season. We're not talking about a lot of iris. Let's see. I had a red one that lived about 4 years, and then simply stopped growing. I just got a black gamecock which is still alive. I had a white iris once that died after just a few months (during growing season). That's about it.
