My new pond is coming right along. I have 7 gold fish, rosy red minnows and some mosquito fish. I would love to introduce some guppies for the warm months. Has anyone had any luck with this? They are so pretty with their little tails, but I don't want to just kill them.

I put guppies in my tub pond once but it was still too cold, and they died. They won't live below about 55-60 degrees F and suffer below 65 degrees F. I don't know what your water temperatures are there right now but it's probably warm enough for them for a few months. I wouldn't put them with mosquito fish, not just because the mosquito fish may nip at them or try to mate with them but because when you need to remove the guppies for winter, you may not be able to tell the two species apart quickly (at least the females).
