Title: African Dwarf Frog Feeding
Description: Do you have to feed them live food?

Do Adfs only eat live frozen and freeze dried foods? Can i feed them the same things i feed my fish? Can i only feed them live, frozen, freeze dried when i buy it once a month to feed to my fish as a treat?

ADF's prefer live food first, then frozen, and then commercial foods (pellets or freeze dried). I have never witnessed mine eat commercial dry foods. If you see your ADF's eat fish foods, then they can survive on those although it's not ideal. Certainly any live or frozen foods you give to them will be appreciated. They sell frog pellets which I put in my tank (and have never seen them eat). I buy live blackworms only about once a month, and they keep in the refrigerator until I use them up a month later.

I only feed my fish live brine shrimp because i dont want to put in worms or any thing in my tank. I also buy frozen food but i only buy live and frozen food once or twice a month. Would this be okay? I like to see all my pets happy and them being taken care of properly.

There is a minor risk in using live foods so you can forgo them if you want. I've never had a problem introducing anything bad. The blackworms also contain some leeches but they're not parasitic but detritivores. Frozen foods last a long time, in the freezer! So, you could get frozen bloodworms, mosquito larvae, etc. and feed those to the ADF's. When I put in live brine shrimp for my fish, I've never seen the ADF's show any interest. I'm sure you can find something they like to eat.

I like to use frozen food better because it really does last longer. IThanks for your help.
