Title: My Dream Tank
Description: Are these fish compatible?

I have always thought of a good tank for me. I thought of an asian theme because i like barbs, gouramis, sharks, loaches, danios, and rainbows. After doing reasearch on all these fish i listed the amounts of each i want. I wrote 8 tiger barbs, 15 zebra, leopard, pearl, and blue danios(in total), 1 rainbow shark, 3 clown loaches, 4 yoyo loaches, a male and female paradise fish, 6 three spot gouramis,(all females or 1 male, 5 females), 4 boeseman rainbows, a male and 2 females pearl gouramis, and a male and 2 female moonlight gouramis. After adding all the maximum lenghts i realized i need a 125 gallon. I was wondering if all these fish are compatible. I think they are i just want a second opinion.

They are semi-compatible. As you know, the various gouramis can be bullies sometimes but most fish can escape from them. There might be problems with the various gouramis all together. I would expect some bickering.

im aware of that part but would the clown loaches and the gouramis eat the danios when they are full grown?

I don't think so. While the larger gouramis (3-spot, pearl, and moonlight) are probably large enough to physically eat a small danio, the danios are so much faster that it's probably not very likely. I've not heard of clown loaches eating other fish.

Ive heard of clown loaches eating neon tetras but they probably wont eat the fast moving danios. When you mean small danio, do you mean young or the adult size?

instead of the very nippy yoyos i have changed it to 3 to 6 rainbow sharks.

By "small danio" I meant a baby or juvenile of most species or adult of a smaller species. Basically, an inch or less.

Thanks for your help. I always like to get a second opinion on things. I will get adult sized.

i keep finding new types of fish i would like to have. i might actually put striped peacock eels instead of the zebra danios because the tank already has alot of top fish already. I was thinking 2 eels.

I don't know anything about them but here is a link with lots of information:
http://www.wetwebmedia.com/FWSubWebIndex/spinyeelfaqs.htmI am inclined to think they are best kept in species-only tanks.
