I bought 7 tadpoles at my lps. They are dark brown and about 1.5 inches and have arms and legs. What type of frogs will they be? If you dont know i could post a pic but i dont know how. You could also give me a site so i can identify them.
The larger tadpoles (bullfrog, leopard, pickerel, green frog, etc.) are very hard to tell apart! I don't think there's a site to tell you how to do that. The patterns and spotting may be slightly different but those can vary with sub-species and variants within the same species. My green frog tadpoles mature at about 1.5" so you could have those. They have brown backs and mottled tummies. Bullfrogs are larger so the tadpoles mature at a bigger size but a 1.5" maturing bullfrog tadpole would not be that unusual so you could have bullfrogs too! Once they morph into adults, it may be easier to tell what you have. If you can post photos of the tadpoles or resultant adults, I may be able to tell you more.
i should find out pretty soon. they are almost little frogs. i can tell the difference when they are frogs. I hope they arent bull frogs!
