Good evening y'all. I'm so excited. I've wanted a pond in the worst way for along time & with a dog & kids it's just been hard & then we moved to a house with a small yard. I had a large table foiuntain that looked like a flat terra cotta pot. I turned it into a mini pond on my back patio. I put in green aquarium gravel. river rock & a couple small plants, a floating silk lily & fake plaqstic frog & it looks really neat.
It holds about 4 gallons of water & sits so nicely on a wooden barstool. It has a pump just like any fountain & I got 7 little feeder comets to put in it. The kids love it & it's a nice addition to our little patio. I've had the crazy fountain just sitting for 3 yrs & finally decided to do something with it.
Of course I plan to change the water...at least partially...on a very regular basis & when the cold weather comes I can move my little pond inside. If Robyn will let me I'll forward a pic to her & maybe she can post it. I can';t seem to get my pics to post, even from photobucket...it says they're too big.
Y'all have a good evening!

Val

I'll try...as soon as I get one up. It's just too adorable & just the right size.

It sounds cute. Sure, you can send me a photo to post. It is my "duty" to tell you that a 4 gallon pond or tank is not large enough for one goldfish let alone seven of them. I hope you can find a larger home for them before they grow. You know what would be perfect in a 4 gallon pond in the summer, don't you? Paradise fish!

Lol I put the baby girl in there & she hated it. I'm also afraid she'd jump (I don't hafta tell you they're jumpers). I got 7 because I figured at least 3 would pass on & yes I'll find a bigger place for them. I don't want them to get too big anyway. I also thought about minnows or something small (white clouds?). I figured 7/$1...

Yes, paradise fish love to jump but goldfish will too. I usually suggest covering small ponds to keep the fish from jumping and also to keep hungry predators out.

Be my guest. I'd like the idea to catch on...I think it'd be good for folks in apartments or retirement living places. Also if you have a small yard like me it's very inexpensive & easy. It's portable so I can take it inside in the winter. I'm glad you like it. And call me Val...it's easier to type lol.

Here's Val's pond. She provided this text:

"The pond's on a barstool & the silver thing on the left is the dog's dish. Underneath the pond I have a cd player in a shelf. You may or may not be able to see a couple little orange fish just beneath the outflow."
