I had 2 'normal' deliveries and then 3rd time round i decided to go for a home birth! It was just the best thing ever. I had my family with me all through and when the birth was near we (my partner and midwives) headed upstairs. Despite my baby being back to back with me (which was VERY sore) i gave birth around 25 mins later to my gorgeous son who weighed 9lb 8oz (4.3kg)!!! I would recomend it to anyone.
I delivered at 1.13am and the best bit was that at 3.30am the midwives had gone and it was just me, my partner and our son (other two children were fast asleep!). In the morning i couldn't believe that i had done it.....mind you i was 12 days late and every day had been wishing that today was THE day!!

Sure! I'll do my best to remember....
Woke up at 2 o'clock feeling ILL! Came downstairs for a cup of tea and thought
O M G I'm in LABOUR!!! Timed a few contractions and realized they were all ready 7 mins apart so called the hospital and let them know. Then called Sally to let her know :) Thought it might be nice to have a bath but that just made it WORSE! Woke Jamie and my mom up, by the time everyone had gottten ready my contractions were 4 mins apart and they HURT! Got to the hospital @ 3:30am, had some pethidine  When I was 4cm they realized she was back to back and gave me an epidural :woo: Got to 10 cm @ about 12 noon, started to push had about 3 pushes then my contractions stopped! Was seen by about 10 different doctors and specialists, given LOADS of oxytocin to try and get them started again but it didn't work, had another exam and they realized she was "brow presentation" so she was tring to come out nose first and got stuck. Went into theater so they could try and turn her but they couldn't and ended up having an emergency c-section. Gabriella Louise Kay was born @ 6:17pm!!!
Wasn't a very nice experience but she is worth every minute!

Wow that is really heavy, but the outcome is worth every bit of pain

Sophie Megans arrival ~ 11th September 2005
I woke up with a lot of clear discharge that had a little streaky blood in it, my back was achy all day. By evening the discharge was increasing and i was getting crampiness in my stomach and my back and thighs were aching. Contractions were every 15-20 mins, some mild and some strong so i rang the hospital up and the midwife said it did not sound like i was actually in labour yet and to call back when the contractions were about 5-10 mins apart. 2hrs later they were coming every 5 mins and i kept feeling lots of pressure so i phoned up the hospital again and they told me to go in for pain relief. We arrived at the hospital at about 11pm and i was given gas and air and examined, they said i was 4cms dilated. The contractions started coming really fast an hour later and i was given pethadine, at 2.30am my waters broke and Sophie Megan was born at 2.59am weighing 8lbs 4oz and 50cms long.

Do you really want to hear? Ok!
I was walking to my sisters house a week and a half before I was due and picked up my niece and walked up the hall. As i put her down my waters broke! Anna, my sister, freaked out and hung up on a our other sister. The mid wife said to stay at home till contractions were 3 mins apart. but there was no need to wait...my husband is a driver and was just about to leave to go a few hours away on a dilivery when he was called and told to come in. When he came to he house a 20 minutes after my waters broke i was ready to be sick! He smelt strongly of Diesle. We got to he hospital and an hour and a half after it all began Kaleb was out and weighed a small 6 pound 13! I was so blessed. He is my first bubba...And the labour was hard and very fast. My waters broke and that was it...Imidiate major pain!!! No lead up! It hit me like a brick wall...But to tell you honestly..in the end joy heavily out weighs the pain!!
Budda - November 1, 2005 12:39 AM (GMT)
P.S coz it was so fast i couldn't have the anti biotics I needed to stop bubba and I getting sick during and after birth...We were fine with out it in the end. Thank Heavens! (No pain relif either!)

hi i became pregnant with my baby at 16 and had him
at 17 last july. at first i was terrified but once i told my family n
boyfriend they were all supportive so i became exited. i stayed at
school throughout my whole pregnancy and i was still waddling up the road8 months on. now my son is 6 months old and i love him more thananythin. i was 10 days overdue and i got brought in to be induced on the 6th day after having 4 pessaries (which are painfull being inserted) whichwas the maximum amount there was still no signs of labour beginning. on my10th day overdue the midwife said to me it is likely that you will need a
section so even though they knew i would need a section i wasbrought downto the delivery ward and had my waters broken, so my labour persued at around 10.oo am and by10.00 that night i was wrecked, in agony, emotionally distressed and yet there was still no sign of my baby. themidwife began a forceps delivery but that didnt work either so after 12
hours of labour my baby was distressed and i got rushed in for a section.i did not feel anything in the op as it wasnt at all painfull aside fromembarressment. after 4 days i was allowed to go home and i was in a lotof pain, one day i went to the toilet and blood was gushing out from mywound, again i was rushed back to hospital and they redone my dressings and gave me antibiotics for a slight infection. the very next day when my
midwife came to do her check up i couldnt even lift up my arm to get myblood pressure checked and her exact words to me were "if u dont go intohospital now i dont fink u will be here by the morning" so unwillingly iwent back to the disastorous hospital to endure more embarressment for
another 3 days. during them 3 days i was painfully injected with
antbiotices 3 times a day (im terrified of needles) and i was also given an iron transfusion becaues i was anameic. my wound took just over 2months to heal and during that time i had to have help to walk, get dressed and yes even get bathed. but just when i thought it was never goin
to heal it closed up i am now back at school once more, and my baby is growing up beautifully.

Suzie Marie Arrival
Had bad back pain for 3 days then the pain got alot worse so i went up the hospital and found out i was 3cm after the first emergency section i was very worried it would happen again but i decided to try natural, everything was going well then i had to have an epidural the pain in my back was awful they had problems putting it in as i lean due to back problems but it was done in the end and i carried on ok i got to 10cms and started to push but after an hour of pushing the midwife said the baby wasnt coming down in came the specialist and my worst fears were realised another section i was so upset but it had to be done the epidural was taken out omg pain pain pain the contractions hit in big time every 5 minutes or so it was so bad i didnt count them ouchie. But i know it took them nearly an hour to get the spinal in for the section. Then the section baby came out it took a while for her to make her first cry they were going to get the breathing apperatus martin has told me but she cried and took her first breaths in time. they brought her over to me and i was smitten by her at first sight she had a full head of hair and stopped crying as soon as she was by me. Martin was so relieved and happy to be able to be at this one. Then they stitched me up this took longer than the first time Martin said they were a couple of problems and thats why it took longer to stich me up. Then i went to recovery and 20 mintues later back to the ward and my baby. I made sure she was ok and then martin gave me the stats which astounded me lol Suzie weighed in at 9lb 8oz. and there was me thinking aww she is only about 8lb, although martin was saying the midwifes thought she was 10lb eek.
My little baby girl is now 2months old and doing very well.
