Title: Working From Home
shaelin2004 - September 21, 2005 07:55 PM (GMT)
I am a SAHM to Kobie (almost 9 months) and have another baby due in May. I have been looking for a job since three months after Kobie was born. Now that I am pregnant again, even though I know that employers aren't supposed to discriminate, I know that it will be hard for me to find a job. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice or any stories on how you may make money while staying home with your children. Adam and I really really need me to have a job for the extra income. I would love to work at home but it seems like everything I find as far as working from home, is something that you have to pay for. I have been told many many times that any company that makes you pay to work for them is a rip off. I am just getting pretty desperate for a job at this point. Things have been tight around here financially since Kobie came and now with this baby things won't be any easier. Both of my pregnancies were unplanned and both Kobie and this baby were conceived while I was on birth control so I didn't have much planning done as far as financially. Any help would be appreciated.

I am pretty good at using the computer. I am great at typing (70 wpm). I would love doing something in Data Entry but like I said, all the work from home jobs want you to pay. I'm not much good at crafts and I'm not too sure about Childcare. While I love children, I'm not sure if I could handle more than my own at the moment. Thanks for the help.

I am in the US. We do have a job center here in town though and I am currently looking on their website for job openings. There are two openings for working from home which I am looking into at the moment. Don't know if they are legit though. I'll keep you posted
Thanks

I just got in touch with my old supervisor of about 3 years ago. It's possible for me to get hired back there. WooHoo. I quit (stupid on my part) because I was under too much stress (not necessarily because of that job). I started getting panic attacks, couldn't think straight, basically couldn't function so one day I couldn't take it anymore and just quit. My work for them was always good so I guess that's why they are willing to look at my application again. I did clerical/patient representative work for them. It was a pretty cool job. Monday-Friday 8-4:30. So keep your fingers crossed please. I would love to have this job back. However, if I don't get it then it just wasn't ment to be and I'll just look at it as getting to spend more time with Kobie.
