I had a horrible ultrasound yesterday! The girl first drilled me and said how do I even know I am pregnant? I said I had 4 HPT and confirmed by DR., she said that does not count only a HCG test counts! What!! I was shocked, so she started the scan by saying well let's see if we can even see anything! 1 min went by and she said nothing at all, well it looks like we definently need the internal scan, so I changed my clothes. She proceeded the scan and turned the monitor where only she could see it, I wanted to just jump off the table! She never said another word except you may get dressed and I will be right back. I waited and she said you are just probably not as far along as you thought,have a nice day! WHAT!! I said wait did you see anything at all? Yes a small sac!!

Excuse my language, but what in the heck was that suppose to mean????
Am I OK?? My lmp was OCT 5, and I am a 32 day cycle, so would a small sac be right at this point or should I be scared??? I am just puzzled and mad, I do not feel she was very professional at all!! crying

I'm so sorry you had such a horrible experience! how many weeks are you? 6? sorry I'm not great at working them out. I had to wait till 9 weeks for a scan because at 8 weeks I was having some bad cramping and they said at 8 weeks they may not find anything. I know thats not much of a comfort but I recomend calling your gp on Monday and asking them to ring the hospital and find out your results so you can put your mind at ease. Take care

Are they gonna re scan you, there should be a heartbeat seen at that stage

omg that is awful i would make an official complaint to the hospital about that you have been left with more questions than answers and all the distress it must have cuased you :pals:

Well, where I am confused is that they said I was probably just too early to tell!! Since my cycle is 32 days I was really only 5 weeks not 6! So I would have been at the most 4 week gestation, right? I went to a few ultrasound sites and they said there should definently be a sac if looked at closely, but could be hard to find and at the end of the 6th week the heart beat would be seen. Am I crazy or does this sound right? Maybe just trying to be positive, I would just hate to see this end!!

If you are only 5wks then a sac is all you'd see. I think i was 6-7wks and all i saw was a flicking thing which they said was the heart beating.

Thanks for your response, I wish now I would have never had this u/s done!! I think with all this new technology we make ourselves upset when in reality mother nature knows what she is doing. Thanks for everything!!

I had blood work done yesterday, so I am waiting for the results today. I do not have anything to compare it too though, maybe she will have me do another one in a few days. I go for another ultrasound on Friday I am praying we will see more. I have not had and bleeding, although I did have some brownish color discharge the weekend I found out so if that was implantation bleeding I would have probably been at the end of my third week when I had my first ultrasound. I guess all of this is so confusing????????

My HCG was 6000, which 500-6000 is 3-4 weeks gestation. So I would have been right saying I was almost in my 4th week. Does this sound right?
