Hello...I've not been here for a while...and for that I'm sorry. I need some help. I have PND and am on anti depressants and have discovered i'm pregnant again. My medication is not strong but its strong enough to the point that i can't come off it without there being an unpleasent out come. The doctor said that he will have to take me off the drug 2-3 months before the birth of my baby or it will be born dependant and will have to be weened off the drug. The are no "pregnancy safe" anti depressants I can take. Also the doctor isn't sure whether the drugs will cause deformities in the baby....Well you see there hasn't ever really been tests done as no one wants to be the gunipigs...and rightly so. I'm worried...I don't know what to do... I can't seem to find any information....or rather I'm afraid to look just in case....What should I do?
I need help...I'm scared...Help

as sad as it is, you can't take anti-depressants while pg, you will have to go off them

Yes you can, I was on a low dose of Paxil while i was Pg with Max and he didn't need weaning or anything, in fact he is my most normal child. He is happy go lucky, bright as a little button. And absolutely no deformaties. The one that I was totally depressed and a total mess throughout my pg without meds is the one with all the probs.
