Title: The Housing Purge round II
Description: Mirage house keeping

Fish'Head - March 9, 2009 03:39 PM (GMT)
Greetings,

As it is apparent now to me this forum has decayed, as we all have disbursed to other galaxies far far away. I see many names in the members list, that bring back good memories of furry and non-furry friends here. Some we know have gone on to the great beyond, as with our friend John, and others still yet wander planet earth. I hope everyone is doing well, and may from time to time stop in here to say hello. As long as this web site may still exist that is also.

On topic now, within the SWG world, our city mirage does still exist. All but a few addicts remain, such as myself, honored citizen Cog, honored citizen Sqaz, and a handfull of others who have chosen to become citizens elsewhere. Along with a new batch of names who do not interact here, the city thrives yet still.

However, with the new patch release another wave of idle housing removal has occured. This one was a deep cut, and closed the books on the SPG guild presence throughly. Aside from the home of Rada Cass, all others, including the SPG hall have now faded into history. The few of us who remain, fully know the foundation of Mirage was laid by the SPG membership, and rest asured that same spirit still exists in the city to this day.

We who remain salute you !! and may you prosper !!!

Ah sad to hear the news on the city, but sounds like the spirit is still there that Mirage was founded for. SPG guild hall or no, I will always remember our days in Mirage, and salute those who have continued the city in its glory.

Right there with you, DB...

My days in SWG...and especially those involving Mirage, with all the citizens spread across multiple guilds... will *ALWAYS* be looked back on fondly. Say what you will about the state of the game at any point in it's history, but the one thing they did right was give us the tools to build a true community, one that I am proud to be a part of.

There are many that don't understand it. Dismiss it as being just a game, and maybe laugh when you talk about it....but that's becasue they were not there. Not when the city was first being planned...or when the heated discussions about how it should be run took place. The passion and pride we all had for a little chunk of virtual home. The concern we had for our Mirage neighbors as they left our online civil war for a more serious one so far from home. And sadly they could not see the ripple the news of John's passing had...even though we had all divided and scattered to separate places...

I don't have any doubts...the community we built in SWG is as real as any other. We came together under similar interests and supported each other through times good and bad. And don't let my lack of posting here lately fool you...Mirage and all my friends are never far, far away...

I miss hanging and chatting and laughing with you all, and hope that not only Mirage thrives until they pull the plug on SWG, but that we all manage to take a bit of what we did and build it into whatever new communities we become a part of.

Here's hoping someday we get to sit around a cantina somewhere again, sharing old stories, and raising a glass for those who can't be with us.
