Is vash and his brother aliens or are they cyborgs? is vash's arm an add-on or did he allways have it, and if he all ways had it then how did knives make the guns do that to them? And 1 more thing, where exactly did they come from, it seems like they were just scooped up from outer space by that space ship?

Vash and Knives are guardians of the plant race, the race of people who are not bound by time (the things in the plants that run the world of gun smoke) they are essentialy the same creatures as those in the plants that keep the planet alive however there pourpose is to keep the plants running. They are a race of plants (as in trees) vashs arm is like that because it was shot off by his brother. The arm that was blown off was attached to Leggatos body, that is why he has the physicic powers.

The guns that Knives made work as a trigger, that draws the full power out of a person born to the race of plants. The allows then to use there angel arm whcih has alot of power to say the least.

it shows in episode 15 or 16 I think it is, they are picked up by the space crew, they are picked up on a desserted planet, that eventualy becomes the planet gun smoke. After the ships crash the people create towns and things of that sort and about 150 years later the show takes place (although Vash looks 27 he is about 150 years of age)
