Staged muscials can be good, but I much prefer the old musical movies. Thats probably just because I prefer film to stage as an actor myself, but my favorite musicals that they made into movies include: Guys and Dolls, Oklahoma, Sound of Music, and West Side Story. I don't think making a movie version of Cats has ever seriously been attempted, except for a filming of a stage production, but I think Cats will always look better on the stage, I think thats the only one I like better on stage.

As a side note, did you guys now that some crazy Brits made a touring stage musical in Europe that is based on the Jerry Springer talk show? Talk about weird.
