several years ago, on SBS Australia (the only free to air TV channel champion enough to show anime, apart form pokemon and DBZ) i saw an anime and i cant rember what it was. what i remember is that it was set in the future, there was a city floating in the sky, attched to the groubd by giant cables, which have razor spinny things that kill anything that tries to climb the cables. the main character was a female robot. and i remeber that a guy who tried to climb the cables, got his legs ripped off by the razor spinny things. thats all i remeber. does it ring any bells?

The anime is called Battle Angel. Or for the manga Battle Angel Alita. Kick ass anime. The female cyborg's name is Gally. In the anime anyway. Hope this eases your mind.
