wats the difference between the ova and the regular series
Yeh what's up with that?
Ok ova or oav stand for Option Anime viewing, or option viewing anime, they are usualy a sub series, or movie to go along with a series.
In a common case escafowne they use the same characters but they do not take the events of the show into considerition, its like a "what if this happened instead of the way the series did it" Usualy they will use the same characters as the show and just do it a little differently.
The other common case is the rouroni kenshin case where the OVA show the past and then the future of the character but do nto actually tie in with the shows main plot (although they use characters drom the show)
Sometimes a show will use them to mix in with the story but they may take the place of an event (this is lik ethe DBZ and yu yu hakusho movies, which use the characters from the show, use the event from the show but sometimes replace a certain event or two)
And the last type os the FLCL type, this OVA is actually just a mini series based around alot of other series (its actually more of a joke then an accurate descrption to call it an OVA)
Ohh that's what OVA is. In that case i've seen alot of OVA's. Thanks. ^_^
I would be willing to bet it means Original Video Animation(or anime)... An anime series that is released directly to video, without being first broadcast on tv or theaters.
i never actually knew what OVA stood for till now.
