Hunter S. Thompson was amazing. may he rest in peace.

Next Gen Cowboy - February 21, 2005 07:48 AM (GMT)
He was amazing he wrote fear and loathing (turned into the movie with Johnnie depp briliantly) but he also wrote articles his suicide is a mystery but in his last article (shotgun golf with bill murray) his last words were "So long and Mahalo." hich means thank you and so long"

"The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over."

In case no one knows (it is hard to actually know this) Thompson never ever ended with so long or any ending. He often (as in 95% of his works) ended with Mahalo meaning thank you.

The so long although somewhat depressing was kind of a dead givaway to what he as going to do.

>sigh<

Anyway, the loss of this revolutionary and visionary will be sorely missed. Namaste and rest in peace

Its no old english it was written in 1972 it is worth reading but I dont know how much you will get out of it (because everyone seems to take something different from it) I thought it was the greatest book every written up there with the likes of Steppenwolf and the like.

It was a sad day for literature and journalism. He will be missed.

On a thompson note I wrote using some techniques borrowed from him. I wrote a paper for my english class it is a high level english class 9the highest my school offers which is cool) the teacher is aboslutly wonderful the kind of teacher that makes you happy to go to school.

Anyway I used some Thompson techniques I wrote a thompsonesq paper and I got an extremely good grade on it. Much discussion was had about the paper and I am quite happy. it is the first time I have devled into writing other then a conventional method and it worked wonderfully

Even in death HST is helping me out thank you my good man I must say. I will do my best to protect this world from the swine but it wont be easy.

Splendid job, Jubba.

I didn't know much about Hunter S. Thompson until NGC told me about him and gave me examples of his work. And found out that I recognized his name... because I have "Fear and Loathing in Vegas" lying around the house somewhere hiding... D':

I believe Hunter was quite the character and very important to many people (and NGC, of course).
