Series, the old series was said to be a OVA but 12 epz is a bit long.

I've looked at some pictures from the Anime. It looks like a mix between the Frieza saga from DBZ and the power rangers.

I didnt' see much of the original anime, but i saw the live action movie, it was totally crap.
