Some people consider the NES and the SUPER NES as the best consoles, What about you guys, who lived the era of the older consoles?

Well, Thats A Hard Question To Answer, But Overall I'd Say The Best Console Would Have To Be The SNES, A Very Popular Console, Great Games, Great Graphics. But The Sega Genesis Console, Which if My Memory Serves Me Right, Was The First Console To Lean Away From Cartridges And Used Compact Discs, It Has To Be Given Credit.

Ok this is toughie because best and most revoulationary are 2 very different things, the most revolutanary console is the SNES, it changed everything consoles could do and lived for such a long time with games that hold there own against todays, it pushed gaminbg to its limits with star ocean tales of phantasia and ff6.

In my mind the best system was the playstation it had metal gear solid, final fantasy 7,8,9 tactics etc, legend of dragoon, and 1000 other games I could and still do play all the time. It may have used disk most effectivly bu it didnt start the trend and therfor I cant call it the most revolutanary

^Agreed PS1 and Ps2 are the best systems, with such a huge libary and such great games how could it not be. On the other hand SNES was good, didn't get me happy higher then that, probebly cuz i was to young.

Exactly How Many Games Are There For The PS1 And PS2 Anyway? Including The Games That Don't Get Released In The U.S?

The snes really was awesome, also when you consider all the japanese games for it. I really liked seiken densetsu 3.
But when it comes to the console I had the most fun playing, which would decide for me which is best. It would come down to PSX and PS2, but I would have to say PS2 out of the two for one reason "Tribes: Aerial Assault" which is the most fun Iv ever gotten out of a console game.
Tho the PSX really had some amusing games like legend of legaia, vandal hearts, star ocean, parasite eve and all the other square soft games. If it wasnt for TAA I would prob say PSX for sheer volume of great games.

Atari is the best.

Atari is pretty fun but mine quit working :( my Commodore 64 is a fun system that works still and i really like Ultima on it and Sega CD has some of my favorite games and i also like Sega Saturn which is a great system but probably my favorite system is SNES which has lots of great games that i never get tired of playing

I used to have an Atari, well...i still have it but its broken, and i don't have a way to fix it.

take it to a shop. it'll be worth it.

I did, the funny thing was the first person who i talked to, didnt know what it was, but when i found someone who knew they said it wasnt worth fixing and i should throw it out. that was 2 years ago though, i might try and get it fixed again.

my fac console would have to be the SNES, i loved playing zelda and donkey kong, but the PSX had good games too, the rpg's were what i was really into for the PSX.
