I was wondering what was everyone views on this issue?

I bought a T-shirt that clearly states

"I steal music off the internet".

I'm more likely to be arrested for wearing the shirt than for actually downloading music.

I have nothing against it. Pirate away, me maties.

well, downloading music from the net, isn't technically piracy.

It can. But it really depends on what you do with the music. Like, putting it on a CD is considered pirating it.


Is it strange that my mother taught me how to pirate music, DVDs, and otherwise when I was 7? D:

she wanted to teach you just incase she got busted. it makes her feel better knowing that one day you could join her in the big house.

My views are simple on piracy: If you can do something without getting caught, then booombs awaaay!

People make a big deal out this, i dowload music all time it's not like the artist is going strave cause you download his song........I steal i don't kill.

Kids kids relax, as a full fledged member of the viking race It is decided that Vikings > then pirates, although pirates are cool and piracy is awesome, I believe the Vikings owned the pirates from the years of about 1000 AD to around 1500 AD Vikings are clearly the winner, against modern Pirates the vikings have little chance of course it should be known Vikings have Odin, Fenrir, Loki Thor, Hel, Munin and Runin, as well as a plethora of other awesome gods and godesses on there side pirates have jolly roger and blackbeard. I am a fan of both Vikings and Pirates but my faith falls with my brethren (who were technically some of the first pirates) see they are in a way the same thing the pirates you know spawned from the vikings who actually spawned from other older places

Oh and I Am part Viking, well...Swedish, just a little bit...so i say Vikings Kick Ass and Pirates suck, but Viking Pirates are Ok.

For me it depends on what type of piracy. If we are talking big companys, I dont feel to bad for them. As someone with hundreds of pirated/cracked game and software titles I cant pretend to be innocent. But when it comes to personal art and things created by only a couple people, I dissaprove of that type of piracy.

I would think that's called plagiarism, not piracy.

Unless you're not talking about those who take other's personal art and claim it as their own. Then I don't know what you're talking about, exactly. D:

Well I would consider plagiarism having to do with the copying of words and saying they are your own more then art/drawings/digital art. What I mean is someone using something an individual makes there living from for there own lucrative needs. For example I would consider any of these piracy.

Someone steals the code from an expensive website and uses for there own site to earn money. Someone taking an obviously original 3d Model and using it in there movie or game. Someone taking graphics from a site and selling them. Etc etc. Tho its probably not literally copyrighted accept maybe in the case of website coding. Piracy is about the best word for it next to plain stealing.

Ok, I'm all for piracy, altough I can't host any Multimedia here due to the terms of service, I'm all for it. I mean Singers may whine about not getting money, but they hardly lose anything they just calculate their lost by the number of people who download, but in reality they are still right and they still have their bling bling.

Movies.. well.. I don't download them since they are too big, but overall they aren't losing anything as well.

I belive in all forms of Piracy exept Plagarism.

Same Here, Plagarism is wrong, but everything else...i'm all for it. if i had broadband, with unlimited Downloads...i'd be downloading movies, Music, games and anime 24/7.

I'm against it...I just can't stop doing it though. But if I download something and I like it I'll go see the movie, buy the dvd/cd etc...if it wasn't for piracy I probably wouldn't buy any of those.

another reason why i'm for it. I'm going to be getting a DVD with advent children on it..from a friend of a friend. lol
