So your first impression of Kaiba is : jerk. But is he really? Why not take a closer look? Lets begin with his past and go on to look at Yugi's actions...

You're asking me what kind of past do you mean, this guy is rich after all. When Mokuba was born their mother died during the birth. Their father dissapeared or died or something two years later. They were sent to an orphanage. Then Seto won a game of chess to get adopted by the owner of KaibaCorp. Their step dad constantly taught Seto about buisness and how to be a buisness man so that Seto could one day inherit the company. Seto got tired of the guy and used a stradegy he had learned to take over KaibaCorp.

Now about Yugi who we all look past when it comes to Seto's unfriendliness. Seto is finally doing alright and even has the title of "Top Duelist" when all of a sudden he is beaten by someone who has never dueled before. He looses his title. Yami destroys half his personality and so he tries to find out who he is, and almost looses his company. Why? All because of Yugi. Yugi many help to save the company but it really was all Seto who saved it. So would you like Yugi if he destroyed your life as you knew it? Seto respects Yugi but its nothing more. As far as I can tell, the only thing Yugi was good for is getting Seto's deck back which he woulnt have to do if he hadn't erased half of Seto's personallity, The Five wouldn't have turned on Seto if Yugi had never done that duel. BTW I think cards like Exodia are cheats and ruin the game cuz they don't require strategy.

Kaiba isn't heartless. He loves his deck, you can see it by how he picks his deck up and how he holds it. Nothing comes between Seto and Mokuba. Seto also loves Mokuba so much, they have an amazing bond. He just dislikes Yugi. Oh yeah and Seto was almost killed and lost Mokuba thanx to Yugi too when he almost lost his company. And the reason Seto didn't join them on Duelist Kingdom after he landed is he knew Yugi offered but the other didnt want him there. Not that he would let Joey mock him for his desicion. Plus going with them would take longer.

I would deffinatly say that Seto Kaiba isn't a bad guy and deserves more respect from Yugioh fans. He had a good heart but he's careful about who he trusts. Besides Yugi, Tea, and Tristen are really big nerds. Yami and Joey are ok.

I watch the show I read some manga of it. and I wrote the article myself, I would say Yugi is mean. Take a closer look at him! Maybe if you watch him with Mokuba, you'de see he isnt. Its just hard for him to trust so he doent get chummy with too many ppl. He acts mean to cover up what he feels and not let other ppl in bcuz he has been hurt.

I haven't had the chance to read Shonen Jump. They were all sell out this month. I will check on december.


and Yugi is cool

sounds a lot like me. i've angered people because they don't like the truth, and i tell it to them. i'm seen as a jerk, and a jackass. i don't like showing anyone the tears that are held in me, and i don't like showing people my emotions. but, as jokiaba will tell you, if i feel you are worthy of my trust and my emotion, then you will see what i really am inside of the shell that i live in. from what i've seen, he isn't necessarily a jerk, so much as an overly complex being with too much on his mind to really be able to want to show emotions to those he feels don't deserve them. now, i honestly haven't seen much of the show, but i'm likening what jo has said to myself, and showing you how someone like that can have a heart. i'm done, thank you for listening.

I agree with Jokaiba. Seto does need respect. Kaiba's personality was molded from his past. Like Jokaiba said, Seto's parents abandoned him and Mokuba in an orphanage, and once adopted by Gozaburo, his stepfather constantly punished him when he does not concentrate on business matters.

Seto Kaiba isn't a bad person. He still cares for his brother. And there is the fact that KaibaCorp was once a military company, specializing in making vehicles and weapons of war. Seto Kaiba, when he took over, turned KaibaCorp into a gaming company, but by then KaibaCorp has already spilled too much innocent blood with the previously-made weapons and military vehicles. This truth about KaibaCorp's bloody past will haunt Seto Kaiba later on waay [around episode 150 after battle city anime] in the series when he meets a duelist who avenges for the death of his younger brother and loved ones who were killed by military tanks and weapons made by KaibaCorp during a war.

I disagree with what Jokaiba said on this. The Big Five were disappointed at Seto for turning KaibaCorp into a gaming company, and I believe wanted to bring back the glory of KaibaCorp for military purposes to uphold the works of Gozaburo Kaiba. After all, Seto Kaiba isn't blood related to Gozaburo, and is probably just a nuisance to his stepfather and the Big Five.

I found out on Taodays episode that he also never had any toys growing up and never got to play all he did was study. And the reason he wanted the BEWD is bcuz when he was a kid he had only a couple cards and Mokuba drew a BEWD for him to use and he vowed to have one one day.

About big five : Then Why did one of them Ask Seto to make KaibaCorp open "Pinguin Land" ??? It was the duel, he lost his great reputation and ppl doubted the Kaiba name if you ask me...

the big five would've turned on him even if he didn't lose the duel though it would've been more difficult.

last time i checked he didn't erase his personallity he removed the darkness that was clouding Kiaba's judgment.

i gotta say your wrong on this one. exodia cards require a strategy of their own to be used successfully. thats why most duelists who use exodia theme an entire deck around it mainly using sangan, WOTBF, and other cards that allow for easy drawing (POG, GC)
