This is just an analysis and Essay made by me. I'm not attacking anyone.

Allright In this essay I'm giving the pros and cons of dubbed and subbed anime and giving an in-depth analysis of it. Everyone is open to cooperate.


We have seen in the past years how anime gets horribly edited or changed(CCS,YUGIOH ETC)

Well Some of the edits have reasons some of them not, Not all dubbed animes are bad it all depends on the company, if it is like 4kids then u kinda of have a point.

4kids aquisitions: Shaman King, YGO,Pokémon, Ultimate Musle,Kirby etc

Changes in Pokémon:
Almost all Pokémon names changed(This was a good change, some of them had some stupid names.)

All japanese Kanji and references(I don't see the point in it)
Two episodes skipped.(Porygon ep sent a million kids to the hospital. Dratini episode The warden of the Safari zone points a gun to ash in the head.)

The acapulco episode was skipped in the first runs because of the scene were James had some fake boobs.(I saw some pics and I downloaded off kazaa once a clip.)

In the Kangashkan episode the little kid asks misty if those things she has are breasts. 4kids changed it to "Are you Pokémon or Humans?")

All openings were altered
All endings were eliminated
Too much music, never a silence moment.(Altough they used some of the original music.)

The Pokémon music they cut off a whole lot of stuff.


YGO:
First season skipped and undubbed.(Because of violence and because they din't focus much on the Card Game.)

Openings changed
Music changed
Names changed
Monster names and cards names changed.
Pictures of the cards altered
Guns edited, they show their thumbs
Mai instead of offering sex to rex, in the dub she offered him a kiss.
They edited in the episode where Pegasus goons go and try to take kaiba, the goon shoot him and he shielded himself with his briefcase.
Death changed to shadow realm
Some diabolic references changed
some horrible scenes edited like for example: Bakura stabbing himself with the millenium rod to seal teh deal.

etc etc etc

This gives a conclusion some stuff is edited, because is kinda of shocking. Well And children are very influtential believe me, I know this. Children Like to imate their fav cartoons. NOT EVERYTHIMNG GOES TO Adult swim.

Japanese are very open minded, for them stuff like this is for kids. But Americans have a diferent culture and they have to follow some rules stablished by the FCC(I read it on a book.)

and besides Imagine the headlines:
7 yrs old kid, Was offering sex to play a card game!
5 yr old kid, stabbed himself following his fav cartoon!

I for once, I like stuff uncut because I'm old enough to face it. But since on TV I don't get to see it, well.. I just see what I have and Try not to complain, they won't listen anyways, Money and ratings are everything in the television of today.

I could list other animes edits but then I would never finish this essay.
Conclusion: Sometimes edits are good, sometimes they are bad. sometimes they do it to eliminate some boring stuff. if you don't like it, well dont watch it.

Subbed VS Dubbed VS Money VS Legal and Avaibilty

For those new to the world of anime let me give you some meanings.

Subbed- Subtitled and uncut(In the world of animes the word subbed means both uncut and subbed.)

Dubbed- Translated from another Language to another. Some dubs are fully uncut
FANSUBBED- these are dubbed by people, people who don't own any studios. this is illegal and You could go to jail for this.


Allright now that we got that clear, let's move on to the point of this.


We got tthe advantage of seeing dubs for free, because on Tv they are free.
Remenber this fact: you are not Paying PER VIEW. You pay only the monthly bill and it doesn't increase more just because u watch Kenshin everyday. but the disavantage of this is that most of the anime is edited on TV. exept in AS. an even in Adult swim some shows get at least one minute of edit. exept for FLCL and Bebop.


The advantage of subbed- You get to see the anime Uncut and original. but the disavantage of this is unless you have a High speed expensive internet connection you can't download anime. Dial-up takes at least half a month downloading an episode(Maybe more, it all depends.) Buying it on DVD or renting it has a disavantage you have to pay.

Let me put up my own example when I rented the 22 tapes that I needed to finish the buu saga a few yrs ago.

Rent $2.00 X 22=$44.40(I suck at math if there's any error let me know.) I spent 40$ because my friend rented the final tape.

Then My friends decided to rent DBGT tapes. spanish uncut.(This was on 2001, DBZ was far from over.)

They spent 36$(They would have spent more, but they had the final two tapes.)

$44.40 +$36.00=$80.4

On Gumdam X I spent: $2.00(For the first tape.) ($4.00 for the first DVD)=$6.00
On Sailor Moon stars I Spent: $18.00
On Saber J marrionette- $17.05(The guy of the store raised the price.)
on Sailor Moon S I spent- estiamated- $10.00
Sailor Moon Super S- $10.00
Both movies subbed- $2.00 + $2.50= $4.50
Inuyasha- $2.50(Per tape) X 3 tapes=$7.50
Some of this prices are estimated.

Sailor Moon VI heart collection Uncut DVD- $39.99
If I want the box set it costs $109.45




The subbed world of anime is very expensive
Download anime and Its illegal.

Anyone who owns subbed versions of:
Pokémon
Digimon
Megaman Nt warrior
Yugioh

Is ILLEGAL. 4kids hasn't lanuched subbed version of these animes. Only CCS

Another thing to say, anyone who saids that the dub of YGO was made to sell cards is wrong. the original version as well.

I'll prove it, And YGo is not the only one with hidden selling messages.

The Japanese Opening song for Battle city called "Shuffle" shows the cards and duels constally plus the lyrics of the song. Which I will Post now.

All CApitalized words represents feelings of dueling, Strategies etc. Like Take ur time to think, YGO card game is a game that you have think a lot before doing something. is all card references. They kill for cards, They hunt for cards, they scam for cards.

everything is card related. YGo is not the only one but that's in the next essay.
