Title: Matthew

Gulf Breeze - October 16, 2005 12:06 AM (GMT)
Hi and thanks for the warm welcome back Matthew. I don't do message boards much anymore since most of mine went under. But this is going to be a year to remember and I could not pass up the chance to get involved in it. Been a pretty doom and gloom year for sure. I do know that my neck of the woods is long overdue for a direct hit. We have dodged the bullet to many times in the last two seasons. I boarded up for Charlie last year and it made it's wicked turn to the inner part of the state at the last minute and I said I would never board up again. I do live in a non evac zone, so that does help. But, what does not help is the big 100 year old trees in my back yard and one of them is almost dead and just waiting to fall on to the house first chance it gets. For sure I will be following this system carefully and daily. Once it passes the straights, then it's time to put on the coffe pot and sleepless nights ahead.
Great to be back and looking forward to adding my thoughts.

Take Care! :)

Welcome back Gulf Breeze nice to see you back. I think there is a good chance there will be a few more storms. I'm watching 24 in which could become quit big.

Hurricane - October 16, 2005 09:04 AM (GMT)
I too am watching TD24 quite closely, as the storms that have impacted us directly have been in the middle to the latter part of Hurrican season..... GOM temps are falling now and right off the coast that Gulf Stream and I live,, the temps are sitting on about 84°F... Quite a bit cooler than when Katrina and Rita Roared through the Central GOM... Whew..

It is nice to read your post Gulf Stream.. pop on in every once in a while and let us know what you think.. Your experience in weather matters goes a long way as you and I continue to discuss in private... ;) B)

Ron, :)

Looks like the NOAA Winter 2005-'06 outlook has North Carolina with equal chances of both precipitation and temperatures.

Looking back at last winter...on January 19th a minor snowfall (.90") "managed" to put the city of Raleigh (where I live) in a total standstill for several hours!! :o  My Dad who works days didn't get home until 2 am ET on the 20th due to skating rink-like roads! :ph43r:

Eric,,, I expect that you might see a bit more of the white stuff this Winter Season,,, The Magnetic Poles are shifting and we have been entering a cycle,, unlike anything we have been exposed to before,,,

We may appear a bit radical here,, for some,,, but we remain on the fringes of what most consider the norm.. (We still gain knowledge from the mainstream sources),, My POV is that there are some brilliant folks out here that go against the grain,, and what they are talking about has to be taken into consideration when we view the options,,

After all,,, we have only been watching the weather,, (really),,, for about 60 years..

The Planet has been delving out her stuff for Eons.... :ph43r: ;)

BTW,,, it is great to see ya on TWW... a)
