I woke up around 6:30am, in it was raining very heavy, in the temperature was around 40 degrees. But at 2am to 4am, it was in the mid 50s? It started to drop even more around 8am, when, I was watching the weather channel local forecast, it said that the Portland, temperature at 8am was 37(My temperature gauge said around 34 something degrees, Around 10am my back yard one had a temperater of 31 degree). I thought to my self that maybe, but I was also thinking it can't snow hear?(It did not snow more then a truce or more the whole last winter) I went outside in it was snowing! Snow flakes started out as big as quarters for the first half hour or so...Then they got bigger 3 to 3 1/2 inches in size around 9 to 10:30am the amount of snow that stayed on the ground was around 2 inches on the grass, with 1/8 of a inch on the street...It kept snowing heavy to around noon time(12pm)Then it snowed very lite intil around 1pm! The coldest temperature was 31 degrees at around 10am in then it warmed up to 34 at 11pm...36 at 12pm...Branches down in front yard...The whole place is still white but melting...I wish It could stay longer!
Well for it to snow at sealevel at all there in Portland is amazing in it's own right. There will likely be snow levels in Idaho down to the valey floor today into tonight as temps drop 30-40 degrees from where they were yesterday. This storm system responsible for this snowfall in Portland will move east over the next few days. Blizzards and severe weather will all result and we all need to keep an eye on this. Both events really crank up on Saturday.

Yes it's very rare to get snow down to sea level, in the month of November in Portland! But In the 1890s the Avg snowfall was 66 inches a year! Now it's less then a inch...One of the reason maybe because 1890s where the end of the last ice age?
