A storm moving through the Southeast will produce rain and thunderstorms from the South to the mid-Atlantic states. While the Northwest needs some rain, the timing is not too good. A strong storm off the coast will bring rain from northern California to Idaho. High pressure over the Northeast will try to keep the rain suppressed to the south, but in doing so, will bring in chilly air from the north. The nicest weather will occur across the Southwest where another area of high pressure will promote dry and warm conditions.
