Title: Hottest 2 Week Period
Description: SINCE 1995

rainstorm - July 15, 2005 10:53 PM (GMT)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Highlights: 1) 3rd Friday in a row with hurricane threat around the corner in gulf. 2) Cross between Gilbert and Allen for final landfall very close to consensus. Pacific Typhoon expected to make landfall near same latitudes (23.5 to 26.5 north) 3) Ukmet sends TC into loop. Other models kill it or dont see it. For US threat late next week to have merit, system must fight trof than break through. Unfortunately , its a what doesnt kill it can make it stronger situation, if it does do that, then its a free ride west to US as an intensifying hurricane. If it doesnt, then current cycle of hurricanes may be over till real season starts. Stay tuned 4) HOTTEST 2 WEEK PERIOD FOR NATION IN ACTUAL TEMPS SINCE 1995 FROM TOMORROW ON. GFS warm, but not warm enough overall. Heat just as big a story, and is the "silent" partner in what is an extreme pattern. In fact, most of the great set ups for heat waves over much of the nation start in the north like this then work there way south, as advective heat from the south usually doesnt stick around as long.
