Title: User Names
Description: Where does YOURS come from? ^^

Oeufa - March 21, 2009 02:35 PM (GMT)
Well, how did you choose your username for the stone?

Mine's a long-time nickname given to me by my friends :P

Chaos, MD - March 21, 2009 02:55 PM (GMT)
Mine came from MySpace, kinda. Some of the students in my art classes had seen my minis, and saw the names(Chaos Sorcerer, Beast of Chaos, Chaos Marauder....) were similar. But one day someone had asked me a question, I gave them the best answer I could, but I finished by saying, "...but I'm not a doctor or anything.) A few days later, one of the girls sent me a message on MySpace and called me Doctor Chaos, which to me sounds like a D-Level super-villain. So I changed it to Chaos, MD. I have used it for years now, starting with MySpace. Not too much of a great story though.

Spawn - March 21, 2009 03:01 PM (GMT)
Well i like to think that i chose this name becuase of my random posting nature and general amount of 'gribblyness' but the truth was i was just looking for a warhammer reference... And as i was flipping through the old Hordes of Chaos book i saw spawn and thought "eh, why not"

It was either that or Greatchanger... and that sounded a bit to egotistical ;)

Yep. thats it.

Sherlocko - March 21, 2009 03:21 PM (GMT)
Some guy in school used to call me Sherlock after saying some pretty obvious things(No Doo-Doo, Sherlock) so I just added an o to the end so I could use it and have it for my own on internet.

mrtn - March 21, 2009 06:17 PM (GMT)
My name is Martin. I've been calling myself mrtn for about 20 years, so it was obvious that I should take that as a username on this newfangled internet thingy.

Daggoth - March 21, 2009 06:19 PM (GMT)
This was one of the names used in these stories my friends and I made up. I later found out it was from an extremely obscure character from Starcraft. But anyways, "Daggoth" sounded by far the most beasman-ish out of the weird names I accumulated and used, so I chose it.

squalie - March 21, 2009 06:35 PM (GMT)
"Squalie" used to be the name we called beer, as in "let's get a case of squalies". NO CLUE as to where that came from, but I've used this name since my miss-spent youth. Pathetic now that I think of it...

Kawazu - March 21, 2009 07:01 PM (GMT)
Mine comes from the 7th album from Morbid Angel, a death metal band (one of the best EVARRR!).
It's the first track, a very disturbant intro, sounds kind of a buzz, but really creepy. And the name "Kawazu" refers to some daemon of the outer void... very chaosy! :D

On CoolMiniOrNot my nickname is "Karhu", that means "bear" in finnish... and it's also the beer brand of my avatar ;)

Oeufa - March 21, 2009 08:16 PM (GMT)
Lol the reasons behind them are quite different :P

@ mrtn:  I neeeever would have guessed! ;)

Come on! Admit it! Daggoth is really 'da goth' since you're a total goth. But using that name, we all know you're a lipstick goth and have no credibility. :P

Daggoth - March 21, 2009 08:56 PM (GMT)
I was probably mistaken by at least a few people in high school as goth, although I never wore make-up or anything *shudder*

Whats your name mean Decker? I hate to say it, but I always think its decker-cry and notice I'm wrong maybe once every few months

I've explained it a lot of times before. :P

And as Oeufa is too shy ( :P ) to explain hers, I'll just say that oeuf is French for egg, and a is a vowel.

BTW, is that a daggoth I see before my eyes?

Lol I did explain it sort of... It's a nickname my friends came up with. When we were preparing to go on a french trip a few years ago, we spoke a bit of french to each other. One friend jokingly said "Ta tete resemble un oeuf" - "Your head resembles an egg". Somehow, Oeufa was born :P

No, thats a Daggoth I see before me... I have thee not and yet I see thee still...

Grarrzag - March 21, 2009 10:57 PM (GMT)
Mine came from me trying to think up of a beastman name, and I thought I guess beastmen go "rawrr" So I added a "g" and "zag" and amde up a super-lame name...

On other forums I'm known as "Warbeast" which is a reference to khorne and warhammer while not sounding too nerdish. :)

Dracomancer - March 21, 2009 11:12 PM (GMT)
Mine's from back when I was stupid and me and my friends thought designing the rules for a new warhammer army wasn't a horribly retarded idea.

God, looking back, do admins still do the changing username thing I know they did for a couple of members on here?

Daggoth is also a god from Conan the Conqueror I think? Definately very beasty.

I guess for me it's because I always like to try new things, so always seem to find myself being called the Newbie or Rookie. The name just kinda fitted as when I joined Herdstone I hadn't even bought any Beast models =)

Apollo3 - March 22, 2009 05:05 AM (GMT)
I have been told I have an Apollonian personality, and I'm tall and blond like Apollo was supposed to be. The 3...no reason at all really, I don't know why I put it there. Probably because I used this name on another site first and just "Apollo" was already taken.

I always thought your username came from the appolo space missions

Garganthor - March 22, 2009 05:30 AM (GMT)
My name comes from the word gargantuan ("of immense size") and "thor", which serves both as a reference to my forn sed interest aswell as being a very beasty name ending (Gorthor, for example...) So, Gargan-thor...

Now, I am no beast, nor very big, and certainly no norse thunder god - the name was made up at first to my Doombull character...and I sortof nicked it...

It's lame, I know, but if I were to change it, I'd probably just make up a new lame name so...it'll do...

GeneralofChaos - March 22, 2009 06:11 AM (GMT)
GeneralofChaos comes from my initials of GoC, that's from my real name of George O'Connell.

GoC

CountArach - March 22, 2009 08:44 AM (GMT)
This is my real name. Also, I'm nobility.

generalaree - March 22, 2009 09:59 AM (GMT)
My first name is Arie, pronounced like aree. I added a "general" to it.

I also go by the monikers "iamaree" and "powerfulcheeses"

edit: @Daggoth I always thought your name was from starcraft

TraitorKing - March 22, 2009 12:50 PM (GMT)
Heres what I posted on the last two threads about this:

QUOTE
As much as it ashames me, It was a name I came up with back when I used to play runescape a few years back.

IIRC, I wanted something evil-y like the cliche dark lord style things. As so many names were taken I kept on trying (I didnt want a name with a number on end, e.g 'evildude112') and I remember thinking of traitor, as in 'Traitor Legions'. The king bit was random.

And, even since then, I've used the username Traitor King for things and as its now my recognisable name I always use, I dont want to change it for something else.

Plaguebeast - March 23, 2009 04:14 AM (GMT)
It took me a while to come up with a suitable name for my Herdstone account as I initially wanted a Bestial sounding name. In the end, I went with 'Plaguebeast' - a name I stole from a Nurgle Beastlord briefly mentioned in the BoC AB (Rukhar Festigor, Plaguebeast of Nurgle). I thought it telegraphed my intention to play a Nurgle-themed BoC army rather well :).

As a side note, I did manage to eventually come up with a name for my Beastlord (Morurghur), but by then the name 'Plaguebeast' had grown on me so I decided to stick with it.

Plaguebeast

Meals - March 23, 2009 04:19 AM (GMT)
This is my Real-Life nick-name.

Overmind - March 23, 2009 04:43 AM (GMT)
Lol, long tale of misery and woe spanning many years, so in true internet style I'll shorten it to the verge of meaninglessness.

Years ago I wanted to join the Tyranid mod forum(my first ever) and needed what I thought was a suitable name. The Overmind from Starcraft seemed niddy and also was availible. So: Overmind.

It just became my name for every account in addition to, bluemaya14 and lordofsouls.

I prefer overmind as it gives me cross-forum recognition, right up until someone else uses it.

AnarchistAntichrist - March 23, 2009 05:50 AM (GMT)
It is supposed to sum up a little of my personality and viewpoint in a catchy alliteration.

ungorlucky - March 23, 2009 01:34 PM (GMT)
Ungorlucky.

Gor bit is obviuosly from beasts.

The rest unlucky is what I am when playing Warhammer!!

snyggejygge - March 23, 2009 01:51 PM (GMT)
snygge = handsome/beautiful
Jygge = short for my name

My friends started calling me Jygge back in school, after having some real luck when it comes to ladies (I was considered handsome by most girls at our school), they added snygge before my name & well it was a name I've used on the internet ever since, because nobody ever uses it (at least not on the forums I am active on).

Decker = http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Decker

CKY = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CKY_(band)

It's one of those names I threw together when I needed to come up with an online alias. Was playing a lot of Fallout those days. CKY was later appended when I couldn't get Decker as a name.

gjnoronh - March 23, 2009 02:35 PM (GMT)
Before there were forums there were news groups - and gjnoronh was my sign in, because that was what my work email was at the time.

I figured one user id for everything just made life easier.

Wookiie - March 23, 2009 02:45 PM (GMT)
Wookiie start as my online handle back prolly almost 5 years ago when I first started playing WoW. I named my tauren hunter Wookie as a humorous name. The extra i was added when a group of buddies all had ii somewhere in there name. During a server transfer I had to name myself Wookïe because Wookie was taken. After a little go old fashion harrassing of low levels in Orgimmar (Misdirecting the Cenarion Circle Guard below the Flight Tower onto them and watching them die and lose rep), I got reported ... figure that out ?!? I was able to show the GM it was the nub's fault for accepting a party invite from me, but at the last second he noticed my name, and forced me to change it. It's been Wookiie ever sense. I've used it on XBox for my handle, DotA, various WoW characters (NE Females named Wookiie ... hah!), almost all forums I frequent, and it just happens to work perfectly for here.

-Wookiie

P.S. I no longer play WoW. Quit before sucked into WotLK.

adr1an - March 24, 2009 04:43 PM (GMT)
'S my name. Simple. Though in real life I don't spell it with a 1 :P

Beastlord Karankawa - March 24, 2009 06:20 PM (GMT)
Name of my over all "Beastlord" for my WHFB army many many years ago - and that inspiration came from Native American Texans (who really were neither in their hay-day)!

Arjelte - March 24, 2009 08:29 PM (GMT)
My first name is Arjen, my middle name is Jelte, some clipping, filing and you don't even need green stuff to get this, never seen it anywhere else. Started using this when on ICQ maybe, or msn. For everything computer/internet related this is my name. B)

Dr.Zoidberg - March 24, 2009 09:19 PM (GMT)
My goal celebration is to do a Dr Zoidberg impression. Plus i'm a big futurama fan.

ps. another thread about this, there have been a few IIRC.

DK-LKN - March 26, 2009 08:16 PM (GMT)
well DK because I come from Denmark ;) and LKN because that is the initials of my name: Lasse K Nielsen

Schnimon - March 27, 2009 04:32 PM (GMT)
I needed an online/network gaming name about 6 or so years go. My friend started typing Simon with different rubbish in the middle.

Schnimon came up, sounding like some retarded kids TV character it was decided this was perfect.

Used it ever since though on elf forums I use a different name.

Kiwichris - March 30, 2009 04:19 AM (GMT)
Well, I'm a Kiwi and my name is Chris. Not very original I know. I did want to be patriotic at the same time. I'm Kiwichris at the following:

- Chamber of the Everchosen
- Daemonic Legion
- Chaos-Dwarfs Online
- Hand of Hashut
- Warhammer-Empire
- Age of Empires Heaven (all 3)
- Fun Trivia
- Wikipedia
- Trademe
