Title: Nurgling army
Description: Using goblin rules?
sandpeople - August 16, 2009 09:06 PM (GMT)
So I have decided to start an all nurgling army! I was inspired by a goblin player I met in the last game of a tournament. He had alot of snotlings, and I was like "hey, I have alot of nurglings", I can do that".
I usually play Beasts of chaos, Ogre kingdoms and Daemons of chaos (until I noticed I could walk up backwards to my opponent and still win).
When I played Daemons I always played with a Great unclean one with nurgling infestation. As a result I also had loads of nurgling bases, about 30 of them!
I am now goiing to use these along with nurglings on 20mm bases to make a goblin army using nurgling models!
What I got so far:
30 bases of nurglings - These could be snotlings or perhaps goblins if used in a unit
100 nurgliings - Will be goblins on 20mm bases
Rock lobber
Rock lobber
Spear chucka
Doom diver
Giant
Just started out tonight, so I will take some pictures and post them soon.
And oh, any ideas are wellcome!

I'm of course gonna follow this as I have 130+ myself.

What are the plans for the giant? Will he be a Great Unclean One, or a massive Pile-O'-Nurgling?

Very interesting (I have many myself) - could tie in to another army easy enough (using GUO's as giants even).

If you add things like the great unclean one or even spawn, it might make it look like a demon army rather than just a nurgling army. I think the massive pile would look better as a giant for the look (imho). Giant flies or maggots might also be able to play into it. Gross, but appropriate.

So Here is my work in progress for the fanatics. They are some kind of mutated super nurglings.

I was thinking about a converted nurgle giant, but perhaps my scratch built great unclean would fit, since he is basically a big Nurgling. But the huge pile of nurglings isnīt bad.

That picture is too small to show anything other than three tiny blobs. ;) And it's not a link to a bigger picture which I thought it was...

Man that picture was way too small, and also kind of blurry.
I tried again, and noticed that my girlfriend had taken the camera to a party. There was some kind of smudge on the lens.
Here are some better pictures:

Did you ever post that GUO before? It's great!
Oh, and
happy birthday!

Nice GUO! I like the pose.

Thanks for the comments!
The GUO is acctually mounted on a chariot base, and I always ask my opponent if it is ok to use it. I have another GUO (also scratch built) which is on a 50x50 base if it is not.
I bought a dooms diver and am going to use it and a giant as the rare choices, but I also feel like building a couple of pump wagons.

Here is my WIP squig hopper. I am going to put him on a smaller base later. I have 5 of these guys for now. Donīt know how many to use to make the unit work best. Any ideas?

As usual, comments wellcome!

this is awsome stuff (sry for extremely late post :P)
the minimum (and for me optimum) unit size for hoppers is 7
giving a huge amount of attacks vs anything that's 5 wide and is still not too overcosted for T3 no as-models

Where did you get the insectish things for the squig? Looks very cool.
Nice stuff, my favorite is the Giant. :)

Greenstuff and spawn bits. But they do look very cool.
Interesting to see the different takes on the nurgling army you and mrtn are taking. :)
