Title: Morghur rules
Targhl - October 15, 2009 07:25 AM (GMT)
1.If someone is engaged in CC with Morghur, does he have to pass Ld test in order to become a spawn?
2.Can immune to psychology\undead troops become spawns?
3. Do the fleeing troops have to test for spwanification?

I'd say no to number one, he has to pass a Ld test to avoid turning into a spawn.
1 - No. But I assume you meant to ask if a unit/character is in CC with Morghur if they turn into a spawn if thay fail the Ld test, in wich case the aswer is Yes. That is, if they fail the Ld they don't automagicaly get turned into a spawn, they just get the d6 S4 hits. If these hits cause wounds then a spawn is created.
2 - Yes. It says any unit, there is no defense against Morghurs powers. Well, not quite true, high Ld and high toughness does help.
3 - Yes. Any troops also means fleeing troops.

Essentially, there are no exceptions for the spawn rule. Every unit within range has to test.

Even newly created spawns?

Hmmmm, I guess so.
All units within range when the shooting phase starts sounds better. If not you'd end up with an awful lot of Ld checks.

Is there any FAQ or something that certainly states these issues, and can be used to argue on a tournament?

Only the rule in the army book to my knowledge.

Yup. Luckily they're Ld10 so rarely split into more spawn.
