Title: Stats for Sigmar

waghi - November 5, 2009 11:16 AM (GMT)
Put together what I think the stats for Sigmar should be. I have no idea of the points cost at all.

Points cost - ???

M WS BS S T W I A Ld

4 9 5 5 5 4 8 5 10

Special Rules

Mighty Roar -
Once per game Sigmar can bellow "Unborguen" at the top of his lungs. This counts as a strength 3 breath weapon. Roll for partials as normal. If it hits, compare the strength to the enemies leadership. If this brings the units leadership below 3, they immediately flee as if they had failed a panic test.

Ghal Maraz -
Any hits caused by Ghal Maraz wound automatically and no armour saves are allowed. Each unsaved wound becomes D6 wounds. Ghal Maraz also grants Magic Resistance 3.

Leader of Men -
Sigmar is unbreakable, and bestows this to any unit he joins. Also, he ALWAYS counts as your general, and his leadership can be used by any friendly units between 18.

Godlike Presence -
Sigmar grants a +1 combat resolution to all units with 12 of him, and a +2 to any combat he is fighting in. Also, enemy units can never gain combat resolution for outnumbering him, or flank or rear charges involving him.

Armour of a God -
Sigmar has a +2 wrdsave and can Regenerate, and is immune to killing blow and poison. Also, he can never suffer more than one wound in any phase of the game (from both mundane or magical weapons).

Iron Resolve -
If Sigmar is slain, take a leadership test for him at the end of that phase. If he passes, he grits his teeth and fights on with 1 wound.

So basically for a 1000+ points (only cost for those stats) this guy is completely unkillable ... Wins every single combat ever, and never loses a combat but if you play him, he will single-handedly lose or cause a draw for you for every single game outside of 3000+.

Pretty much sounds like Sigmar, doesn't it? :P

Tauren - November 5, 2009 04:07 PM (GMT)
Oh and by the way, he runs around with zilch for armor and can only move at movement 4... meaning almost all evil can outrun him.

Kawazu - November 5, 2009 04:14 PM (GMT)
He might be outrunned by everybody, but in combat is completely broken

Of course, with M4 he will rarely see combat... who would like to engage a HtH with an unbreakable unit lead by such monster?
The idea is nice, but I think it isn't viable at all.

mrtn - November 5, 2009 04:29 PM (GMT)
I think his battle cry should be "Unberogen" instead. ;)

Sherlocko - November 5, 2009 04:51 PM (GMT)
If you really want input, I would drop regen and either drop a wound from him or drop the ward save to 3+. He will still almost be unkillable, but at least not as much.

And if you really want "sigmar" it would be cool if you added some kind of rule disallowing black power weapons from his army...or where they there when he lived?

And I donīt really understand his breath weapon.

I would also drop the second half of his godlike presense since he is unbreakable, and perhaps add that units close to him are stubborn on their own LD?

mrtn - November 5, 2009 04:55 PM (GMT)
@Sherlocko: You're right, black powder weapons were a much later invention.

Could sigmar kill a greater daemon? I always thought that engra deathsword gave him a rough ride and he would be archeron equivelent.

stats:100
Mighty Roar - 50 (cf fusil de conflagration)
Ghal Maraz - 150
Leader of Men - 50
Godlike Presence - 150 cf dark elf banner + brew

Armour of a God -
+2 wrdsave - 35 (cf inverted wardsafe of dark elves) :P (iz joke)
Regenerate - 50
immune to killing blow and poison -15
can never suffer more than one wound in any phase of the game -  50

Iron Resolve - 50

700 points :P

200 more then the white dwarf character; seems reasonable but really stupid to invest that much points in a character on foot.

what??, no 1+ armour save?

Endra Divini - November 5, 2009 10:23 PM (GMT)
Thats pretty scary! I think he is a bit over the top though, even for Sigmar. Remember that even the mighty Sigmar is still a human.

I would keep his stats the same (Mabye 1 less Ws?) but make the roar Str 2, Rid Ghal Manz of the MR bonus, GLP 6", +1 to his unit instead of +2, 4+ ward and finally no Regen.

cheers.

I think it should be, "Ughhh, Broken...."

Apollo3 - November 7, 2009 07:41 AM (GMT)
Cool idea, but I think you missed the mark if you were intending to make him actually playable rather than just cool.

waghi - November 8, 2009 11:17 AM (GMT)
Lol there is no way I would play him, he's just for awesome factor!
I think the human barbarian lord from AOW would be a pretty cool representation for him.
I ddin't give him armour as I tink theres a picture in one of the old rulebooks with him wearing only a loincloth
